Commonly Asked Questions About Our Mobility Services
Still have more questions? Read on. We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions for you.
How often is mobility-related training refreshed or updated for the staff?
We don’t rely on basic, one-time training. We want to provide the best in-class mobility assistance, which means we need to offer our staff rigorous, ongoing education. This training covers topics such as safe patient handling, transfer techniques, and fall prevention protocols.
What is the immediate, step-by-step protocol the caregiver must follow if the client falls during a shift?
We have a clear protocol for your safety. We’ve trained caregivers to immediately stabilize and assess the situation and the client’s condition. They should call 9-1-1 if they suspect an emergency or any kind of injury and immediately notify the supervising nurse.
What is the protocol for managing a client who becomes confused or resistant during ambulation?
If a client becomes confused or resists during mobility assistance, the staff is trained in immediate de-escalation and safety techniques. The caregiver will immediately stop the movement, ensure the client is safely seated, use verbal redirection, and check in with the nurse to determine if they need to change the care plan.
What is your experience using specific mobility equipment?
Our aides have experience using a variety of tools, including walkers, canes, rollators, wheelchairs, transfer boards, hospital beds, lift chairs, and gait belts.
How do you provide assistance with walking (ambulation), and how do you prevent falls inside and outside the home.
Caregivers are vigilant in making sure there is nothing in a client’s path as they’re walking. If at home, the caregiver clears the area before the client walks through to make sure no falls occur.
How does your agency ensure a good personality match between the client and the aide?
We match people based on their personality, favorite hobbies, and schedules.
Do you provide consistent caregivers?
Absolutely. We try to provide the same primary caregiver, because that is the best way to establish trust with our clients.
Do you perform background checks on home aides?
Yes. We conduct comprehensive background checks.
What About Payment Options?
